Hi there!

My name is Melissa and I’m a professional academic editor based in Canada. I have a strong academic background, including a BA (Hons) in English and Philosophy and a MA and PhD in Philosophy. I studied copy editing and publishing at Toronto Metropolitan University and have been working as a freelance editor since 2014.

In particular, I provide proofreading, copy editing, and developmental editing services to authors (both academic and non-academic) of non-fiction books. I also do occasional work on journal articles, dissertation, theses, funding proposals, etc. I specialize in the humanities and social sciences, broadly construed. I have worked on a wide range of topics, including anthropology, history, philosophy, art, sports, memoirs, business, linguistics, politics, and archaeology, to name just a few!
